AnimeFest '08 Report! WARNING: LONG (again)
Tired
Well, I didn't get to go to the first day of the con, even tho there was a lot of stuff that I thought was cool going on...¬—¬ stupid school. >—<
Saturday:
Well, we were leaving my house at the time I wanted to be there XD
's dad was kind enough to drive us down, and I still can't believe we fit everything into that trunk o_O We checked into the hotel, and our fridge followed soon after...We did a little shopping, and finished paying for her doll!!! lol He's so cute!!That night was the masquerade, and I must say it was pretty good! lol There was a Joker/Harley(/Ivy?) group!! When I saw them I was like "Oh, the Harley looks like one I've seen on dA!" lol Just looked, and
(who's Harley I was thinking of) said they were going to AnimeFest, so I might've seen them. XD Either way, the costumes were impressive!OH! And the Ramen and Rice concert was SO. MUCH. FUN!!! Their were a lot of songs were I was like "Wha?" and I had to turn to the people next to us, but on two I knew what they were right away and others didn't, and both were Ghibli songs XD Shows how much of a Miyazaki nerd I am! ^_^;
Went to bed around midnight to wake early and refreshed for the next day!
Sunday:
Had a decent night's sleep, tho I debated just getting up at least once before the alarm rang. We got down to the con and basically just walked around, and listened to the Ani-Idol competition held by Mu Epsilon Kappa, UNT's anime club. <SO AWESOME!! XD
When cosplay time rolled around, we flew downstairs for a pizza for me and
to split, as well as some pudding and cheese and other stuff we brought from the room. As we walked up to the line, they were moving people about and telling people to curve around, and I turned to my mom and said "Are we sure this isn't AKON?" (read the Saturday night part of my AKON journal if you don't get it ;]) But we got decent seats, and the cosplays were very funny, and I got some pics, which will have to send to me b/c my cam broke before the con and I had to use hers. 
Art Auction = EPIC WIN!!! There were 2 official Ouran High School Host Club Jackets that went for $500 a piece (
), and then a picture of Jack Skellington went for $1000!!! 8D It was epic awesome. Buuut then we left, 'cuz they were going to begin auctioning the adult stuff, and we just didn't want to see that XPAnd then
and I went to the rave. 8D It was so much fun!! Tho we agreed that next time we bring glowsticks and a bigger posse XDMonday:
Poked around a bit, and packed up our stuff to leave. I won some of
's art at the auction today, and I'm reaally happy about it ^_^ and I got to chill with the BJD people today as well, so I'm happy. :3Well, methinks that's it for this weekend. My shoulder's are sore, my feet are tired, and I'm seriously thinking of snuggling up with
's blanket.
